In a new collaboration with Dr Alan Quan, we bring you his latest creation! Multi material chunky grip replacements for the Fanatec V3 Wheel. The original Fanatec grips are too slim for many people, so get creative and personalise your Formula V3 your way!
Choose your own materials, your own colours. The factory wheel is 290mm in diameter - with these grips you can convert your Formula V3 wheel to 308mm. With a sharper design language, this elevates the overall aesthetic of the V3 wheel.
If your printer has 2 or more nozzles, you can print solid grips with a soft TPU skin for comfort and aesthetics - Modifiers included to create a uniform 3mm thick skin.
Hardware needed:
- 3D Printer! (ideally something like a Snapmaker U1 for multi material prints, but not essential)
- Torx T9 screwdriver (to remove factory screws)
- M3x12mm socket head cap screws (10 total)
- Hex key 2.5mm (to install M3 screws)
3D Printing Settings
- Main body: PETG, 1.2mm bottom, walls and top surface. 15% gyroid infill
- TPU skin: 95A TPU, 1.0mm top surface. 15% gyroid infill
Pre-arranged project files with supports painted are provided, these were made in Snapmaker Orca but have been tested on OrcaSlicer, Anycubic SlicerNext, Bambu Studio and Creality Print with no problems.
NOTE: fitment tolerances are affected by your filament and support settings. Please test and tune your settings for your personal printer/filament combinations.
Different STLs are provided and labelled depending on your preference for:
- same-material supports with top Z distance of ~0.2mm
- dedicated support materials with top Z distance of 0.0mm
