THRUSTMASTER SF1000 INSTRUCTIONS - GUIDE TO REPLACING YOUR GRIPS

ALWAYS TAKE YOUR TIME WHEN CARRYING OUT THE FOLLOWING. IF IN ANY DOUBT ABOUT THE PROCEDURE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT US.

Tools Required Before You Start

Tools Required Before You Start

Tools Required Before You Start

Philips Head Screw Drivers P0 and P1. The end needs to be narrow enough to fit into the grip screw and wheel recess holes.

Cloth (to protect and rest your steering wheel on)

2.0mm and 2.5mm A/F Hex Keys (Allen® Keys).  Make sure the Hex Keys are a good fit. A poor fitting Hex key can result in you rounding the hex hole on the top of the screw head.

Sharp Knife (Stanley / Exacto Knife or similar with a strong blade for cutting plastic)

Small container to keep all your removed

screws, small wheel parts etc safe.

Optional:
Plastic thin edged tool (like a mobile screen

opening pry, also known as a Spudger).

Tweezers Sharp pointed (can be used for grabbing screws if not falling out easily enough)

Cutting Mat or something similar to protect your table when cutting.

Wheel Disassembly: Rear Section (part 3)

Wheel Disassembly: Rear Section (part 2)

If you have a prying tool this is a good time to use it. If not, you can use your finger nail or something else that wont potentially damage the plastic edges. The two halves do come apart fairly easily so you can even pull apart with your hands in some instances.

Wheel Disassembly: Rear Section (part 4)

Wheel Disassembly: Rear Section (part 3)

Wheel Disassembly: Rear Section (part 4)

Carefully lift up the rear section of the wheel to reveal the internals of the wheel. The cables connecting the two halves are quite short so do not try to lift apart too much.
